Power to Act for a Cabinet committee to take final decisions on an issue can be authorised by Cabinet, following a request by the responsible Minister.
Refer to this page for more information about the Power to Act conventions.
Approval to send a Power to Act request must be obtained from the responsible Minister before the request is made.
Generally, Cabinet at the start of the week considers requests to grant Power to Act to a Cabinet committee that has a meeting occurring later in the same week.
Copy the form attached in the word document below to notify the Cabinet Office of the Minister’s request for a committee to take Power to Act.
The email containing the completed form should be sent to [email protected]. The Cabinet Office will ensure that the request is processed and a response provided.
